Los premios en memoria de James H. Ellery se entregan anualmente a las personas de los medios de comunicación por su destacada cobertura mediática de la Liga Americana de Hockey . Los premios se entregan en memoria a James Ellery, ex director de publicidad de la AHL. El primer premio se entregó a una persona en 1965. De 1976 a 2013, se entregaron tres premios, uno para cada uno para periódicos , radio y televisión . En 2014, la AHL comenzó a otorgar solo un premio por la cobertura de los medios en general.
