La temporada 1948-49 fue la segunda temporada consecutiva del condado de Newport en la Tercera División Sur desde el descenso de la Segunda División al final de la temporada 1946-47 . Fue la vigésima temporada del club en la tercera división y la vigésimo primera en general en la Liga de Fútbol .
